Unicorn Magic
Perhaps the earliest mention of the Unicorn is by Herodotus, who in the 3rd century BC wrote of the 'horned ass' of Africa. Other early Unicorn stories involve two of the greatest leaders of ancient times. In the 3rd century B.C., the Macedonian general Alexander the Great boasted that in one of his conquests, he rode a Unicorn into battle. In the century before the birth of Christ, Roman Emperor Julius Caesar reported seeing a Unicorn in the deep forests of southwestern Germany.
A prehistoric cave painting in Lascaux, France depicts an animal with two straight horns emerging from its forhead. The drawing's simple perspective makes the two horns appear to be a single, straight horn. Because the species of the figure is otherwise unknown, it has received the nickname "the Unicorn."
Once magic was all around and mankind knew how to call upon it, to use it to keep the world in harmony and protect the good Mother Earth and all inhabitants. But slowly the magic faded away because of the belief in logic and science which gained strength and the ancient rituals and belief of the magic were set aside, eventually becoming evil and something to avoid causing the ways of the ancients to disappear and the world became a darker cold place.
