CHANGLING.jpg There was once a magical race of people, the Tuatha Fey, who roamed freely throughout the ancient island of Eire, with it’s never ending rolling plush green hills and sweet water springs and rivers. They were once the Gods of Light, great masters of magic. A grand people who loved the good mother earth and cared for all her treasures she revealed onto them… until the invaders came. After the fourth great invasion, spanning four hundred long years of war, the Tuatha Fey were finally driven underground, forced to dwell in darkness forever more, except for that one magical day when the veil between the worlds is thinnest and the Tuatha Fey can parade about their beloved island in the night shade of the full moon. Thus is the way it has always been since their banishment above land began. Still, their love for the land above them increased and flourished brightly as they remembered, even though they could never enjoy it’s shining beauty again. And yet they lived on and prospered in the night shade, under hill, dell and lake, for their enchantments they could resist death’s grasp for all eternity, except for in the heat of battle or a broken heart. Some say even now they flourish still as muses of inspiration for master builders, grand poets, wondrous artists and entrancing musicians. So the Tuatha Fey patiently wait until the sacred day with which they can bask in the moonlight above ground once more. So it is the same for the barbarians, the slayers of the magic who invaded the sacred island last as they were cursed by the Fey for their wrongful deed. They lay in wait for the same magical night as the Tuatha Fey…the night of Samhain, All Hollows Eve, Autumnal Halloween, the Eve of the Day of the Dead. There are those who claim to be brave enough to venture about in the dark, when the moon is full and bright to guide your way, one just might see the Fey and still walk about with the rest of us, for seeing one of the Fey, he who is blessed by the moon, else you may never been seen or thought of again, taken as a slave in the underworld. The luck is up to the seer… Do you dare to go a-wandering? once more.
